Add a channel catalogue
Add a Amazon channel catalogue in your Lengow account.
There are three types of channel available for Amazon:
- Amazon: this is the standard Amazon feed. It enables to create and update your product sheets on Amazon. You have to use this channel if your products do not exist in the Amazon catalogue.
Depending on its category, we advise you to use the Amazon Flat File feed, as it is way easier to set up (see the "Annex : Amazon Flat File by categories).
This channel includes "Orders management" feature. - Amazon Flat File - (for some categories only): it is reserved for products belonging to the corresponding Amazon category. This channel DOES NOT include "Orders management" feature. If you activate this channel, make sure to also activate the standard Amazon channel to be able to manage your orders. All you have to do on the Amazon feed is to fill in your credentials in the "Settings" step in that case.
- Listing loader: enables to sell products that already exist in the Amazon catalogue. You cannot create new product detail pages using this channel. This channel includes "Orders management" feature. More info on Amazon website here!
If you have a European Amazon account and if you want to sell your products in several countries, Lengow recommends you to add an Amazon channel for each country on Lengow.
Note: If you wish to sell your products in a country which is not available in Lengow, please contact our Support Team.
Match Categories
Match your categories with Amazon's using "Categories Matching".
There are two Categories Matchings for Amazon:
Product Type (mandatory): enables to retrieve the attributes corresponding to the types of product that you sell and then match them on the Attributes page. Ex: Clothing
Product Category (recommended): enables to classify your products on Amazon website. Ex: T-Shirts & Tops
You must complete the Product Type mapping before the Product Categories.
Complete Attributes Matching
Match your products catalogue fields with the fields requested by the channel, based on fields definitions. If necessary, enter hard values, use functions and/or adapt the values by creating rules. For fields with valid values, select the suggested value or match with your products catalogue values. If a value is missing, please contact your Amazon account manager to ask for this value to be created.
Note: HTML is not supported by Amazon on your product listings, except for line breaks (</br>). For more information, see Product detail page rules.
Some fields are mandatory and must be completed for your products to be created or updated. Other fields are optional but Amazon recommends you to fill them in to improve your products visibility.
Special features for Amazon:
1. Set up your special offers / sales
To set up special offers / sales, fill in the following fields:
- standard_price:strikethrough price of your product (original price). If your product is not discounted, this field must be filled in with your usual selling price.

- relationship_type: declare the type of variation linking the child to the parent. It may differentiate between several products from the same range (Variation) or provide a direct link to the accessories of a product (Accessory). This field must be empty if the product is a parent.
- VariationData..VariationTheme (e.g Clothing..VariationData..VariationTheme): variation criteria. It can relate to colour, size or a combination of the two (e.g Size, Colour, SizeColour, etc.).
- Color, Size, Length, etc. attributes are used to indicate the colour, size, length, etc. of the child product depending on its Variation type.
On the attributes page of your variation category look for the term "Variation" to access the attributes concerned.
Parent products must be sent to Amazon if your products catalogue contains variations.

Main types of error and how to correct them
The explanation of errors is available on your Amazon Seller Central, and in this Amazon documentation.
Here are the main errors and how to solve them:
Amazon error message: The product data provided was insufficient for creating a variation (parent/child) relationship for SKU: XX. Solve and prevent error 8016:
- Make sure that both the parent and the child products of the same family have the same variation theme.
- All the attributes associated to the variation theme are filled for every child product on the feed.
Amazon error message: You are not authorized to list products in this category. To sell products in this category you need to obtain approval by following the instructions given here: http://sellercentral.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/200333160
Solve and prevent error 8026:

The item_id data provided matches ASIN BXXXXXXXXX, but the following data is different from what is already in the Amazon catalog: standard_product_id (Merchant: [Merchant value]; / Amazon: [Amazon value]). If this is the right ASIN for your product, update your data to match what is in the Amazon catalog. If it is not the right ASIN, make sure that your data for item_id is correct.
Solve error 8541:
Check if the product is the same as they actually intended to sell.
- If it is the same product, you need to use the ASIN from Amazon instead of the EAN code the seller provided.
- If it is not the same, the seller must check their own data and correct anything that is wrong.
- If the seller is sure that his/her data is correct, you should direct them to contact Seller Support and report an error with the product data on Amazon.
- If you have used ASIN while uploading the product, either change the conflicting data or only use SKU and ASIN with no other product information.
Note: This error may be due to the recycling of UPC or EAN by manufacturers. For example, clothing barcodes are sometimes reused after three years. Check that you are using the correct ASIN for your products.
