Do you need to open the URL of a product or channel catalogue?

To check data or for your internal use, you may need to open a file URL in a text editor, or to convert it into a spreadsheet.

Find the URL of a product catalogue

If your product catalogue is imported through a link, you will find this URL in the Settings section of your catalogue.

You can also download your product catalogue

Any type of product catalogue (URL, FTP, plugin) can be downloaded, whether you own the source or the catalogue is reprocessed by Lengow, whether it has one single source, or additional ones.

How to access this export?
From the "Products" section of a catalogue > "See all products" > click on the "Download your catalogue" icon.
Your catalogue has 50 000 products or more?

The export will be asynchronous, which means the export will be processed, without blocking any other Lengow options.

Once you launch the export, you are able to keep browsing through Lengow and set whatever parameters you want.

A message is displayed on the bottom left corner. It will let you know the status of the export.
You may stop the export anytime you want.

Once the message is green, download the file!

You can open the URL link to see the raw data, for example to check for format issues.
You also need to open the URL before converting the file.

Any CSV/TXT or XML file URL can be opened by copying/pasting it in your web browser.
Best practice is to open the URL in a text editor such as Notepad++ or Sublime Text:
  • Go to "File" > "Open..."
  • Paste the URL

Convert a CSV file into a spreadsheet

Most URL links in Lengow are in CSV format. You will find the data more readable once converted into a spreadsheet like LibreOffice Calc (recommended) or Excel

Convert in LibreOffice Calc (recommended)

Once your URL link is opened:

  • Use the mouse or the shortcut Ctrl+A to select all the content.
  • Copy and paste it into LibreOffice Calc (in the first cell of the table).
  • The "Text import" window will open, where you can select the delimiter (or separator) in your file. In most cases, this delimiter is the "pipe" (vertical bar " | ", AltGr+6) or the semi-colon.
  • Click on "OK".
Your file is now a spreadsheet split into multiple columns, ready to be formatted to your needs (sort, filter, etc.).
