The different attribute types
For each category, OTTO lists the different attributes available to describe your products. These attributes are listed in this documentation (to download, in German), which complements the information provided by Lengow.Â
In this "OTTOmarket_Kategorienliste" spreadsheet, you will find useful information about each attribute:
"featureRelevance"
The "featureRelevance" specifies how the data provided for each attribute is used on OTTO (ex: navigation, filter, etc.).
When "featureRelevance" is set to "LEGAL", it means that the attribute is mandatory.
All other attributes are optional. Nevertheless, you should fill them in if possible, as they increase the visibility of your products on OTTO.de.
The attributes are classified according to several terminologies:
- Information providing details on the specific features of your products:
- FILTER
- NAVIGATION
- PRODUCT_DETAILS
- SEARCH
- Information required by regulations:
- LEGAL
- SUSTAINABILITY
- Information for creating variations:
- TITLE
- VARIATION_THEME
"relevance"
In the spreadsheet, you will also find the "relevance" of each attribute, which indicates the relevance and weighting for the visibility of the individual attributes.
Levels of relevance: "LOW", "MEDIUM", "HIGH".
"allowedValues"
If an entry is made in the "allowedValues" field, you must use one of the values separated by a semicolon ";".Â
Example: For the "Zielgruppe" attribute, you may select among these values: Erwachsene; Jugendliche; Kinder
Example
You are selling home furniture, such as beds, dressers, shelves, etc.Â
You first have to complete the category mapping and map the common attributes.
Then, you need to complete the attributes specific to the tables category ("Tische" in German):
- The "Ausführung" (model) attribute contains the following information:
The indication "VARIATION_THEME" means that it is necessary to fill in this attribute to set up the variations.
- Two attributes are available to manage color information: "Farbe" and "Grundfarbe".
"Farbe" | "Grundfarbe" |
- Zum Beispiel: braun, grau, natur, schwarz, weiß - Farbe - Relevance: HIGH - Feature: VARIATION_THEME, PRODUCT_DETAILS, FILTER, NAVIGATION, SEARCH |
- Grundfarbe - Relevance: HIGH - Feature: FILTER, NAVIGATION, SEARCH |
Â
To create a color variation, you'll need to add the information in the "Farbe" attribute; whereas if you have a simple product, you only need to fill in the information for "Grundfarbe".
