Google is replacing the Content API for Shopping with the new Merchant API, which introduces:
- A new API structure
- Updated attribute formats
- Improved management of product data and services
To ensure continued compatibility with Google Shopping, Lengow is migrating its integration to this new API.
Google plans to fully transition by August 2026. To ensure a smooth transition and avoid any disruption, Lengow will migrate your feeds and settings in advance.
Timeline
Migration rollout: April to June 2026
Completion: end of June 2026, ahead of Google’s deadline.
What is changing
This migration is primarily technical and is handled automatically by Lengow.
Your existing configuration, attributes, and data structure will be migrated to match the new Merchant API requirements.
What you need to do
No major action is required at the moment. However, we recommend reviewing your configuration before the migration.
Two attributes may require your attention:
Size attribute
In the legacy connector, the attribute "sizes__list__" could contain multiple values.
In the new Merchant API, "product_attributes.size" supports only one value.
- If multiple values exist, only the first one will be kept during migration.
Please review this attribute to ensure the correct value is used.
Link attribute
Previously, the "link" attribute was optional, although required by Google.
In the new Merchant API, "product_attributes.link" becomes mandatory.
- If already filled, no action needed.
If empty, you must provide a valid product URL.
The migration
Lengow will automatically create the new draft feed(s) for you, duplicating all your current settings.Â
Your feeds will continue to be processed as usual. Settings, Promotions, frequencies will not be impacted.
Once the feed is created, you must authenticate your Google account. This authentication allows Lengow to send your product data to Google. Please refer to the dedicated guide here!Â
We will keep you informed and provide instructions when your account is ready to authenticate.
