Variations

Three kinds of products may be present within your product catalogue.

  • Parent products: this refers to your product reference. It has no variation notion. This product is not real: it cannot be bought. One parent product may be linked to many child products.
  • Child products: this refers to products that may be bought. The child product has all of the variation notions, which differentiate it from other child products. A child product is linked to only one parent product.
  • Simple products: Each simple product is different from all of the other products within the catalogue. The product that it represents may be bought.
