Migration to the New Cdiscount (Octopia) REST API
Cdiscount is transitioning to the Cdiscount (Octopia) REST API. This migration is mandatory to continue publishing products, updating offers, and managing orders on the platform.
Key Dates for Migration
- February 25, 2025: Lengow will provide access to the Cdiscount (Octopia) environment, allowing you to start the migration of your product feed.
- March 31, 2025: The SOAP Product API will be deprecated. From this date, it will no longer be possible to publish new product on Cdiscount if the first phase of the migration is incomplete. Product management must transition to the Cdiscount (Octopia) API before this date.
- July 29, 2025: The SOAP Offer and Order APIs will be deprecated. Offer and order management must transition to the Cdiscount (Octopia) REST API before this date.
Phase 1: Product API Migration
In February, Lengow will create the Cdiscount (Octopia) product feed for you. Cdiscount will migrate existing products to the Octopia environnent.
On this new feed, products will be mapped to similar categories when possible. Draft feed will also appear.
Your product feed cannot be duplicated, as categories and attributes differ in the new Octopia environment. Doing so may disrupt the migration process.
Do not disable the Cdiscount channel, as offers and orders will continue to be processed there until the migration is fully completed.
To finalize the product migration you must:
-
Access the New Feed: Review the Cdiscount (Octopia) feed created. It will be easily distinguishable by its new blue logo and its label "Cdiscount Octopia".
-
Map Product Categories: Check and adjust the category mapping to ensure products are correctly categorized. Refer to the Categories Mapping Guide for detailed instructions.
For further details on product features refer to the documentation provided by Octopia.
-
Map Product Attributes: Verify and map all necessary product attributes to ensure the new feed is set up correctly. Check the specific settings here.
Unlike in the original feed, products will be editable in the new Cdiscount (Octopia) feed. It is important to ensure that your feed is properly set up before you launch and synchronize your product feed on Cdiscount (Octopia) to avoid impacting your existing products.
If no values are sent for certain attributes from the new Octopia feed, the existing data in the Octopia back office will remain unchanged.
For example: if you have manually entered information for certain product attributes in the Octopia back office, and later send a feed with no values for those specific attributes in the new Octopia feed, the data in Octopia back office will not be overwritten or removed.
The attribute “variantGroupReference” appears when Octopia allows variations for a specific category. If this attribute is not visible, it indicates that variations cannot be created for the product in that category (e.g., umbrellas). Ensure to verify this attribute when managing product categories that support variations.
For further details on attributes refer to the Octopia's Help Center.
-
Enter the Octopia Seller ID: Once the configuration is ready, input your Octopia seller ID into the connection settings to connect your product data.
You can find the ID in your Octopia sellershop in the settings menu.
-
Launch your feed: Synchronisation of the product feed is automatically set once you've ended the configuration and launched it. Ensure the feed is properly configured to enable seamless syncing of product data within the new Cdiscount (Octopia) environment.
-
Error Management: Address any issues flagged in the error reports generated by Cdiscount (Octopia). These reports will provide detailed information on product references, categories, and attributes that require correction.
Ensure all errors are resolved promptly to avoid disruptions in publishing or managing products.
