To ship an order, certain marketplaces (Zalando, OTTO) require the return tracking information to be provided.
Follow the following steps to add the return tracking number and/or the return carrier.
Return tracking number
1. Add a return tracking number Metafield
On Shopify, go to the "Custom data" > "Order" > "Add definition".
Create the new metafield definition as follows (see screenshot below):Â
- Name: "Return Tracking Number"

Namespace and key: order.return_tracking_number
 The namespace and key must adhere to this exact wording. - Field type: text
The return tracking number will then be available at the order tab level in Shopify.
Note: This field is only displayed for the marketplaces which request this information.
2. Enter the return tracking number
When editing an order, fill in the return tracking number in the corresponding Metafield:
The return tracking number will then be provided to the marketplace when sending the ship action for this order.
Return carrier
Note: On Zalando, the return carrier cannot be edited as it must be the same as the initial carrier. This field will therefore not be displayed for this marketplace.

On Shopify, go to the "Custom data" > "Order" > "Add definition".
Create the new metafield definition as follows (see screenshot below):
- Name: "Return Carrier"

 The namespace and key must adhere to this exact wording. - Field type: text
2. Enter the return carrier
When editing an order, fill in the return carrier in the corresponding Metafield, next to the return tracking number:
The return carrier will then be provided to the marketplace when sending the ship action for this order.
