The marketplace Galeries Lafayette is using a new taxonomy. Merchants must therefore re-map all categories with the newly created ones, and map all new mandatory attributes for these new categories.
Galeries Lafayette allows merchants several months to switch to this new taxonomy. The new categories and attributes will be available in Lengow as of the 30th of July.
What is changing
Galeries Lafayette is introducing a new category tree structure on its website. As a consequence, new categories are created along with new category-specific attributes.
Galeries Lafayette's new classification of products will be organized by product type rather than by universe (gender/age). All category codes will be modified, even if the category name is the same, which is why merchants must re-do the whole categorization of products.
The new taxonomy and the previous one will coexist for several months, until Galeries Lafayette deprecates the older categories. Galeries Lafayette will provide you with a specific deadline before which you will have to use the new categories and attributes.
After the deadline, new products not using the new taxonomy will not be published, and the product data of current listings will not be updated.Â
What you have to do in Lengow
Categories
From the 30th of July, in your Galeries Lafayette channel, you need to modify the mapping of all the categories of your catalogue to now use the new Galeries Lafayette categories.
In Lengow, both lists of categories are displayed together in the "Categories" section.Â
 Important: the new categories which must be used are under the main category named "Arborescence Produits". All the new categories have the mention "NEW" to make your selection easier.
Example 1:
I'm selling pants. My products were categorized in the "Pantalons" category of Galeries Lafayette. I now need to select the new "Pantalons" category belonging to the "Arborescence Produits" main category.
To do so, I enter "pantalon" in the search bar.
- First, I'm finding the older categories, I DO NOT select any of these:
- Then, I find the new categories, which are recognizable because they are marked "NEW" and are located under "Arborescence Produits". I select "Pantalons" among these categories:

Attributes
Mapping new categories will result in the display of the corresponding category-specific attributes.
In the "Attributes" section, make sure to map all the mandatory attributes requested by Galeries Lafayette.
The newly-created attributes are labelled as "NEW"and displayed under the main category named "Arborescence Produits", as shown in the screenshot below:
In this example, several mandatory attributes are requested but not completed on two levels: "Arborescence Produits" and "Textile". Make sure to fill in these attributes.
Please note that categories like "Homme" which are not under "Arborescence Produits" belong to the previous taxonomy. They will be deprecated and should not be used anymore. In such a case, modify your category mapping.
Among the new mandatory attributes to complete are the supplier color ("ATD_LIB_COLORIS_FRN") and the supplier size ("ATD_LIB_TAILLE_FRN"), both of which allow free values.Â
In addition, gender ("ATS_GENRE") and age ("ATS_AGE") become mandatory attributes for categories where this applies.
Tip: As well as mandatory attributes, it is recommended to fill in optional attributes to enrich your listings and make your products more visible.
