The marketplace Kaufland.de accepts only 13-character EAN codes. Lengow will therefore block the sending of all products whose EAN does not contain 13 characters. Â
What is changing
Lengow is aligning with Kaufland.de's requirements by only sending to this marketplace the products having a 13-character EAN (European Article Number).
Note: It's also allowed to send 14 characters, in case you're using GTIN-14 barcodes.
As of 8th of July 2024, if you are sending a product without 13 digits in the "ean" attribute, you will receive the following error in the Channel report: "the value is not a valid EAN-13".
When a product gets this error, Lengow is blocking the sending of its offer and product data, which means that it will neither be published nor updated (Â including prices and stocks) on Kaufland.de.Â
What you have to do
Please ensure that your source catalogue contains valid EAN-13 codes for all your products.
If this is not the case, the recommended process is to update directly your source data, as providing valid EAN codes is best practice and is a common requirement on most channels.Â
If in some cases you have 12-digit codes (UPC, for example), you may add an extra zero in front of this code by setting up a rule in Lengow, as explained below.
How to create a rule to add a 0 in front of a UPC?
If for some of your products, you have a 12-digit UPC, add the rule below in the "ean" attribute to add an extra 0 before your UPCs.Â
