AI Content Localisation

The AI Content Localisation app helps merchants adapt their product content to local market expectations directly within Lengow. It enables you to translate and localise product data per country and language, while keeping your original catalogue intact.

What is AI Content Localisation?

The AI Content Localisation app is designed to help you efficiently localise product content for international markets, without duplicating catalogues or manually rewriting attributes.

With this app, you can:

  • 🌍 Localise at scale: Translate and adapt up to 30 attributes per catalogue or segment, tailored to each country and language.
  • 🔒 Preserve your source data: Generate localised versions without modifying your original catalogue.
  • 👀 Preview before publishing: Validate localised fields directly in catalogue and feed previews to ensure quality and consistency.
  • ✏️ Stay in control: Fine-tune or override any localised value using Lengow’s rules, optimisation tools, and search & replace.
  • 📊 Track performance: Monitor localisation progress and quickly spot missing, incomplete, or overridden content.

For the selected language and country combination, choose the attributes to localise (up to 30) - see screenshot below.

AI Content Localisation can handle all product attribute types, with a strong focus on textual, customer-facing content, such as:

  • Titles and short titles
  • Long descriptions and bullet points
  • Marketing copy, taglines, meta descriptions, SEO snippets
  • Materials, usage instructions, technical specifications
  • Care instructions, warnings, legal notes
  • Structured text such as colour names, styles, product families, and categories

When selecting each attribute, you must specify the expected output format — short content (for titles, material, etc.) or long content (for descriptions, marketing text, etc.) — to ensure the generated content matches the intended length and structure.

Please note that unit-based fields (such as dimensions, weight, size, currency, or other numeric fields) should be modified using optimisation rules in Lengow if needed, rather than localisation.

Select Language and Attributes

Configure Output Format

When you're ready, click on "Generate translated and localised content".

AI Operation Confirmation: Before the AI operations are launched, a confirmation pop-up will appear. It shows the number of AI operations you’ve already performed during the current month, along with an estimate of your total usage if you proceed. This gives you visibility into how this action will affect your monthly usage before you confirm.

5. Monitor localisation progress

In the "Your localised catalogues" page, you can see:

  • The localisation you just launched.
  • Its current status ("In progress" or "Done"): Ensure readiness before publishing to international channels.

The localisation process can take some time, depending on the size of your catalogue. It may remain "In progress" for a while.

Localisation Status Page

On this page, you can also:

  • Start a new localisation by clicking "Create new localised content".
  • Click on the three dots next to a catalogue to access the following options:
    • Preview
    • Change attribute mapping
    • Generate missing content

6. Preview the AI-generated content

Click on the three dots next to your localised catalogue and select "Preview".

You will be redirected to the catalogue preview page where you can see:

  • A new field added to your catalogue, named AI_(field name)_(language code).
  • The localised content suggested by AI for each product.

Preview Localised Content

If the localised content is not present yet:

  • It may still be in progress ("Generating" status).
  • An issue may have occurred ("Something went wrong" status).

You may manually override values if needed using Lengow’s optimisation rules.
