Workspace Setup Guide
The Market Intelligence Setup Tool lets Lengow users create and configure Netrivals or NetMonitor stores directly from Lengow.
Workspace creation and feed importation into Netrivals or NetMonitor are now fully automatic. The key operational benefit: all feed and catalogue operations are now driven by Lengow. No more manual feed uploads in Netrivals or NetMonitor, catalogue indexation in Lengow automatically triggers the import.
What is a workspace?
A workspace acts as your central hub for tracking competitors or resellers in a specific market. It contains your target country, selected products, competitor sites, field mappings, and specialized add-ons (such as Dynamic Pricing, Market Research, or Content Compliance).
Once created in Lengow, it will generate your fully connected Netrivals or NetMonitor stores, ready to use.
Prerequisites
To set up a workspace, you must already have a product catalogue imported into the Lengow platform. If you have not imported your first catalogue yet, please refer to our guide on the List of Import Methods before proceeding.
Catalogue Segment: We highly recommend creating a catalogue segment to send to Netrivals/Netmonitor beforehand. This is because you cannot change the segment or the catalogue within a workspace later on, but you can easily edit a segment to modify the products it contains. The ideal approach is to create a segment even if it initially includes all products. See our dedicated guide for more information: Segments.
Grouped Products: Please note that these steps only apply to products that are not grouped. If you want to group your products by parentID in Netrivals or NetMonitor (for example, one product in Netrivals for all the sizes of the same pair of shoes), you need to contact your CSM or your Onboarding Manager.
How does it work?
Step 1: Welcome Screen
In Lengow, go to the Netrivals or Netmonitor section on the left side and click the Set up my workspace button in the Netrivals or Netmonitor section. An explanation of what a workspace is will be displayed on this screen.
Step 2: Workspace Name
Enter a custom workspace name. This name will appear in your workspace list and workspace management page.
Unique Name Required
Your workspace name must be unique. Duplicates will be rejected with an error message.
Step 3: Product Selection
Choose either your full catalogue or specific segments to monitor. As mentioned earlier, it is highly recommended that you have already created a segment for this purpose. There is no limit on the number of products you can select. The selected products will be available for competitor monitoring in your workspace.
Step 4: Country Selection
Select a monitoring country from the global country list. This selection determines market-specific data and competitor tracking for your workspace.
Step 5: Competitor Domains Input (Optional)
Type or paste a list of competitor domains. Please ensure that all competitors you add use the same currency. Note that our dedicated team will manually add these rivals to your workspace after setup and generate automatic connections and suggestions.
Step 6: Add-ons Selection
Toggle add-ons during setup to enhance your workspace capabilities:
- Dynamic Pricing: (Netrivals only). If enabled, VAT and Cost Price fields will appear and become required during mapping. Careful! We take the VAT for each product from a field. You can either send the exact VAT rate from your catalogue (useful if your rates vary from product to product), or you can create a field with a fixed value using an optimisation if needed.
- Market Research: (Netrivals and Netmonitor). If enabled, you will be prompted to select sites for research.
Step 7: Attribute Mapping
Map your product attributes to the system fields. Some fields are auto-mapped by default, but you can change them during setup.
Required Attributes
Required attributes that must be mapped include ID, Title, Price, and GTIN/EAN.
(Note: If the Dynamic Pricing add-on is enabled, VAT and Cost Price are also required)
Optional Attributes
Optional (but highly recommended) attributes include Image links, Brand, Category, Description, Reference, MPN, Stocks, Tags, and Shipping cost.
Please check the tooltips in the interface for more information about the specific formatting required for each field. For example, your category format must be separated by a ">" character (e.g., category>subcategory>sub-subcategory)
Step 8: Submission & Confirmation
Upon successful submission, a toast notification is displayed. You will then be directed to the workspace management page while the setup is carried out in the background.
The backend automatically creates your workspace, sets up the database, and indexes your feed. After the initial store creation and catalogue import, our dedicated team will manually add your selected rivals, establish connections, and generate suggestions.
Because this setup involves manual configuration by our team, the overall processing time depends directly on the volume of competitors you requested. Please keep in mind that the more rivals you add, the longer the setup will take. We will notify you as soon as your workspace is fully ready!
Notifications
You will receive an in-app notification and an email confirmation once the creation process is fully finished and your workspace is live.
Step 9: Workspace management & edition
Once at least one workspace is created, you can add another workspace, edit the attribute mapping of an existing workspace, or delete it. Editing the mapping automatically triggers a fresh feed import on Netrivals.
You can easily update your configuration at any time by clicking the actions menu and selecting the option to edit your mapping:
Note: Workspaces manually created before this tool existed are also visible here, but are strictly read-only, you cannot edit them.
