Zalando is making changes in GPSR attributes, introducing EPR battery attributes and new Sustainability certificate labels.
What you have to do in Lengow
1. Sustainability attributes
Zalando is introducing new sustainability certificate labels. Refer to the full list below in the original message.
Ex: Cotton made in Africa Organic, Sustainable Fibre Alliance, Cradle to Cradle Certified, etc.
In Lengow, in the "home_labels" attribute, select the value applicable to your products.
2. GPSR attributes
Zalando modified and renamed the "filter_type", "lens_type" and "gpsr_warnings" attributes.Â
If you were using these attributes, you have to re-map them in Lengow under their new names:
- "filter_type_productsafety"
- "lens_type_productsafety"
- "warnings_productsafety"
3. EPR battery attributes (in July 2025)
As part of the EU Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) obligations for batteries, Zalando is introducing two optional attributes to indicate whether articles contain electronic components or batteries:
- "contains_electronics": select Yes or No
- "contains_batteries": select Yes or No
Zalando will make these new attributes available from the week of 8 July 2025.

New Sustainability Certificates
We are adding the new labels (names) of sustainability certificate. They can be submitted the same way as other certificate labels exposed previously.

Changes in GPSR attributes
We are going to change the labels (names) of three existing attribute types. These are filter_type, lens_type and gpsr_warnings. They will be renamed accordingly:
- Filter_type -> filter_type_productsafety
- Lens_type -> lens_type_productsafety
- gpsr_warnings -> warnings_productsafety
All these three attributes have the same definition (free text strings).
EPR Battery Attributes
As part of the EPR Battery project, we are going to add the optional attributes contains_electronics and contains_batteries to the config tier. These attributes will be linked to all the outlines. Both these attributes are reference_by_label with values yes and no.
