Amazon error message (example)
"sku: the number of characters must not exceed 40"
What does this error mean?
The you are trying to send to Amazon is too long.
- Amazon only accepts SKUs with a maximum length of 40 characters.
- SKUs longer than this limit will be rejected and cannot be listed.
How to fix this error
- Shorten the SKU so that it contains no more than 40 characters.
- If your system generates very long SKUs, consider using shorter identifiers.
- Ensure SKUs remain unique for each product to avoid conflicts.
Once the SKU length has been adjusted, resubmit your product feed to Amazon.
