ManoMano has announced an important update regarding how they handle product categorisation on their marketplace.
What's changing?
- Category selection is no longer required: ManoMano now takes full ownership of categorisation. Their improved algorithm identifies product information directly from titles, descriptions, and images, no manual category input is needed on your end. (Note: Category mapping remains visible in Lengow but is now ignored by ManoMano).
- The attributes list has been simplified: ManoMano has reduced the number of attributes to a simplified list of 21, which is applicable across all categories. Category-specific attributes have evolved, they are significantly reduced, though some specific category attributes are still available.
- Faster, lighter product creation: These changes mean that you can now list products more quickly and with less manual effort.
A few things to keep in mind:
- Rich descriptions matter more than ever: Make sure to include as much detail as possible in your product data (materials, dimensions, uses, technical features, etc.). This is exactly what ManoMano's algorithm now relies on to categorise your products accurately.
- Energy label fields remain mandatory where applicable: If your product is categorised by ManoMano into an eligible category, you will still need to supply the required energy attributes for the listing to go on sale (energy label rating, minimum energy label rating, and maximum energy label rating). Any missing mandatory data will be indicated in your ManoMano error report.
Action required: Check your attribute mapping (21/07)
Lengow's feed structure has evolved to adapt to these changes. We strongly advise you to check your attribute mapping from July 21st to ensure all relevant product data is properly mapped and continues to transmit seamlessly.
You can see a preview of the new simplified feed template here.
