📣 Decathlon - News - New automated return label solutions & 6-minute SLA

To transition from a fragmented return experience to a seamless, standardized journey for customers and partners, Decathlon is updating its return policies in the next MSC.

Moving forward, all sellers must provide a return label to the customer within a maximum of 6 minutes after a return request is initiated.

While this transition is necessary to meet rising customer expectations, we are here to support you in implementing the right solutions to successfully meet this new requirement.

⚠️ Important Note for Lengow Users: > Please note that only Options 1, 2(a), and 2(b) are available for Lengow sellers. Option 2(c) (Full API integration) is not supported yet.

Available Return Label Solutions

You can choose from the following supported methods to manage your returns:

1. The Default Option: Decathlon Carrier Contract

Let Decathlon handle the entire process automatically. When a customer requests a return, Decathlon will generate the return label using its own carrier contract and send it instantly.

  • The Benefits: Benefit from competitive, negotiated shipping rates with zero development effort on your side.

  • How the Fallback Works: This is the mandatory default solution. If you do not provide your own label within 24 hours (which will be reduced to 6 minutes in the near future), Decathlon will automatically push a label to the customer on your behalf. In these fallback cases, the carrier costs and a label generation fee will be invoiced to you.

  • Note: Decathlon is currently working on rolling out this feature across different countries.

2. Seller's Own Labels / Carriers

If you prefer to maintain your current shipping agreements and utilise your own carrier rates, you can choose between two automated methods via Lengow/Mirakl:

  • Solution 2 (a): Fully automated via your contract Securely share your carrier contract credentials with Decathlon. The system will then automatically generate and upload the labels for every return request on your behalf and instantly send them to the customer. You will only be charged a small label generation fee (€0.20).

  • Solution 2 (b): Upload labels upfront in Mirakl You can upload your own return labels upfront for every incoming order directly into the Mirakl "Documents" section (using API OR74). Once a customer requests a return, the system will automatically pull your pre-uploaded label from the documents and instantly send it to them.

📌 Important Reminders & Next Steps

  • Mandatory Tracking: Providing a return tracking link is mandatory for every return request to track refund data. If you choose the Default Option (1) or Solution 2 (a), the system will automatically handle this tracking upload for you.

  • Make Your Choice: Please evaluate these options and confirm your preferred method by filling out the official Decathlon Choice Form. Decathlon will assist you with the final implementation.

🚨 Action Required: Check Your Return Address

Please ensure your return address is correctly configured in your One Partner Portal.

⚠️ Pay Close Attention: > The total number of characters across both address lines combined must not exceed 40 characters. Please review and shorten your address lines if necessary to avoid label generation failures.
