The marketplace Decathlon is updating its taxonomy, starting with the Apparel products (clothing, footwear and accessories).Â
Decathlon allows merchants one month to switch to the new categories, which will be available in Lengow from the 8th of July.
What is changing
Decathlon will remove its "Apparel & accessories" categories, which were divided by types of sport. They are being replaced with "Apparel (NEW)" categories, which are divided by product types.
Between 08 July and 08 August, merchants must migrate to this new taxonomy, as the "Apparel & accessories" categories will be deleted by Decathlon in August 2024.
The impact is only on the product creation or update, not on the offer update (prices/stocks).
Decathlon anticipates a delay in product creation or update (2 to 10 days) during this period.
In September or October, other category migrations will follow.
What you have to do in Lengow
Categories
In your existing Decathlon channel in Lengow, new "Apparel (NEW)" categories will appear from the 8th of July in the "Categories" section.Â
For any of your categories which were mapped to an "Apparel & accessories" category of Decathlon, you must re-map these categories with a newly created one under the main Apparel (NEW) category.
All the new categories have the mention "NEW" to make your selection easier (see screenshot):Â
Attributes
Mapping new categories will result in the display of the corresponding category-specific attributes, in the "Attributes" section.
These attributes are not mandatory, although it is recommended to fill in a maximum of optional attributes to enrich your product listings.
