📣 Decathlon - News - From 17 September 2024 - Categories to migrate (phase 2)

What is changing

After the Apparel products in July (phase 1), Decathlon is now changing the remaining categories: equipment & spare parts, nutrition, pharmacy, optics and electronics. 

Decathlon allows merchants one month to switch to the new categories, which will be available in Lengow from the 17th of September.
All merchants must migrate to this new taxonomy, as the old categories will be deleted by Decathlon from the 4th of November 2024.

The impact is only on the product creation or update, not on the offer update (prices/stocks).

What you have to do in Lengow

Categories

In your existing Decathlon channel in Lengow, new categories to use will appear from the 17th of September in the "Categories" section. 

For any of your categories which were mapped to an old category of Decathlon, you must re-map these categories with a newly created one.
Refer to Decathlon's mapping file to help you selecting the correct new categories. 

The old categories have the mention "Do not use" to make your selection easier:

Attributes

Mapping new categories will result in the display of the corresponding category-specific attributes in the "Attributes" section.

The following attributes are mandatory and must be completed:

• • Product nature
  • Size
  • Sport
  • Gender (for some categories)

Decathlon also recommends filling in a maximum of optional attributes to enrich your product listings.

Marketplace Taxonomy changes - Find out coming changes to remap your product

Dear partner,

As you may know, Decathlon launched an important taxonomy project. In the previous weeks, we have changed the apparel & shoes categories to the new category tree.

It’s now time to work on all remaining categories: nutrition, pharmacy, optics, electronics, equipment & spare parts. This project implies:

1. New categories to use for all product types (mapping update)
2. New labels for mandatory attributes : Product nature, Size, Sport and, for some categories: Gender

The taxonomy is ready and will be implemented for the 17th of September.

In the file below, you will find an Excel with all changes. It will help you matching old and new categories to do your update.

In Mirakl, from the 17th of June, you will be able to see the difference through their label:
Old categories will have the mention "Do not use" attached to it

To migrate your product from one category to the other you need to :

1. Update the category
2. Fill these 4 attributes (you can use the same value as before but the attribute name changes and thus it must be filled again):
   • Product nature
   • Size
   • Sport
   • Gender (for some categories)
