💡 Zalando - How to migrate to Zalando API

Zalando is progressively replacing XML single-country feeds with the new API connector. In Lengow, this migration changes your setup from one feed per country to one multi-country feed.

Follow our recommendations below to ensure a successful migration.

Key points:

  • Products already live on Zalando are not impacted.
  • Lengow will migrate your current feeds and associated settings.
  • Limited actions are required from your side (detailed below).

Useful documentation:

Timeline

The migration is rolled out in two phases depending on your setup:

- Sellers with a single Zalando XML feed

Date Step What happens
Week of April 6, 2026 API feed creation Your new API feed is created as a draft in your Lengow account.
Until May 25, 2026 Validation period You review and adapt your feed.
May 25, 2026 Final switch API feed goes live and XML feed is deactivated.
You monitor potential errors.

- Sellers with multiple Zalando XML feeds

Date Step What happens
Before April 20, 2026 Feed selection In this form, you select which country feed will be used for migration (copy of the settings).
Otherwise, the feed generating the most revenue will be migrated.
Week of April 20, 2026 API feed creation Your new API feed is created as a draft in your Lengow account.
Until mid-June 2026 Validation period You review and adapt your feed.
Mid-June 2026 Final switch API feed goes live and XML feeds are deactivated.
You monitor potential errors.

Do not activate the new API feed manually
The switch will be handled automatically by Lengow on the scheduled migration date, in coordination with Zalando. Your XML feeds will be deactivated at the same time.

What you need to do

Make sure you complete the following actions before the migration.

1. Review and update your new API feed

Your new Zalando multi-country API feed is automatically created with most of your existing settings already migrated.

You must still review your setup in Lengow before the migration date to make sure your data, mappings (categories and attributes) and configuration are correct.

Some attributes may become mandatory depending on categories.

Sellers with multiple Zalando XML feeds

All Zalando countries are now managed in one single feed, which means you must adapt your settings:

  • Identify any missing information from the previous XML feeds.
  •  Configure prices and stock for each country using the dedicated country-specific attributes:
    • "Quantity - XX sales channel"
    • "Regular Price - XX sales channel (EUR)"
    • "Promotional Price - XX sales channel (EUR)"
    • "Scheduled Prices - XX sales channel (EUR)"

Missing or incorrect values for a country can impact your product availability or performance on Zalando.

2. Update the material and metric attributes

The material and metric attributes require manual updates in the new API structure.

These attributes were previously sent in one field, containing the value and the corresponding unit. In the API version, they are now split into two separate fields, which cannot be automatically migrated by Lengow.

- Metric attributes

Lengow migrates the metric values, but the corresponding unit must be added manually.

Example:

  • "Metric (Height) - Metric value": migrated, to verify.
  • "Metric (Height) - Metric unit": to select manually in the drop-down menu (ex: "centimetre unit").

- Material attributes

The material attributes must be remapped manually, as new format does not allow Lengow to migrate your data.

For each material, the material_code and its material_percentage must be provided as detailed in this article.

3. Adapt your API integration

If you use Lengow's API to retrieve Zalando orders, you must adapt your integration to use the order field  "marketplace": "zalando"

The country code indication is available in "marketplace_country_iso2".

Example for Zalando FR

Before:

"marketplace": "zalando_fr"

After:

"marketplace": "zalando"
"marketplace_country_iso2": "FR"

Orders already processed in the previous connector will end their lifecycle in their original settings.

4. Feed migration

Make sure you reviewed and adapted your settings before the migration date.

On the migration date, Lengow will automatically activate your new Zalando multi-country API feed and deactivate the previous XML ones. Do not proceed with the feed activation yourself.

Your existing credentials remain valid.

In the days/weeks after the migration, monitor your new Zalando feed for potential errors in the channel report, and ajust your settings if needed.
