Temu - Attributes - Variations
Configuring variations (parent/child products) correctly is crucial for successfully publishing your catalog on Temu. The marketplace uses strict mathematical validation for product variations, requiring absolute accuracy in how your identifiers and attributes are mapped.
Important: No Placeholder Parents
Temu considers all products as variations of a parent, even if the product family only has one item. However, parent products that are simply "placeholders" (virtual parents without physical stock) must not be sent to Temu. You must only send the real, purchasable physical products in your feed. Temu will automatically group them together based on the External product ID.
Map Parent and Child Identifiers
In the Attributes step of your Temu channel in Lengow, you must define the relationship between your parent products and your child variants. Map your catalog fields according to your product type:
| Product Type | External product ID (Parent) | External SKU ID (Child) |
|---|---|---|
| Products with Variations (e.g., T-shirt in multiple sizes) | Map your Parent ID. Every variant in the family must share this exact same ID to be grouped together. | Map your Child/SKU ID. Must be completely unique for every individual variant. |
| Standalone Products (e.g., Unique coffee mug) | Map your standard unique Product ID. | Map the exact same unique Product ID. |
Standalone Products & Variation Attributes
Even for standalone products where the Parent and Child IDs are identical, Temu still considers it a variation group containing exactly one item. Therefore, you must still fill in 1 or 2 variation attributes (e.g., mapping a default value like "Standard Size") for the product to be accepted.
The Variant Matrix Rules
When mapping your variation dimensions (e.g., Color, Size), you must adhere to the following platform limits:
- Maximum dimensions: Max 2 variant dimensions per product (e.g., Color + Size). Note: Some categories have strictly required variant dimensions which count toward this limit.
- Maximum values: Max 44 total values across your dimensions (e.g., 4 colors + 40 sizes).
- Maximum SKUs: Max 500 SKUs (children) per parent product.
- Minimum requirement: You must map at least 1 variant dimension if the product has variations.
Pricing Harmony
Temu enforces strict pricing rules for variants that share the same color family.
Pricing Harmony Rule
All child SKUs that belong to the same color group must have the exact same base price amount (EUR), reference price, and currency. Ensure your Lengow pricing rules or formulas output identical values for all sizes within a specific color.
