There are two Categories mapping for Amazon:

Product Type (mandatory): enables to retrieve the attributes corresponding to the types of product that you sell and then map them on the Attributes page.
Ex: Clothing

Product Category (required): enables to classify your products on Amazon website.
Ex: T-Shirts & Tops
You must complete the Product Type mapping before the Product Categories.
