What is Marketplace Fulfillment
Fulfillment refers to a service where the marketplace manages the entire logistics process for you. Instead of the seller handling the shipping, the marketplace takes charge of the order once it is placed, including picking the product from the warehouse, packaging, labelling, and shipping it directly to the customer.
This option "fulfillment" is available in marketplaces such as Amazon, Cdiscount, Zalando, ManoMano, etc. (see details below).
How to Set Up Fulfillment in Lengow
Activate the service on the Marketplace
First, you must enroll in the specific fulfillment program (e.g., "Fulfilled by [Marketplace Name]") directly within your seller back-office on that platform.
Configure your Channel in Lengow
Once activated on the marketplace side, you must update your channel settings in Lengow to identify which products will be handled by the fulfillment service.
Map the Required Attributes
Marketplaces use specific attributes to distinguish between merchant-shipped and marketplace-shipped products. In your attributes mapping, you will need to fill in one or more dedicated fields (such as "Fulfillment Center ID" or a "Logistics Type" toggle) to flag the products included in the program.
Order Import and Synchronization
When using a fulfillment service, the order management process in Lengow is automated. Since the marketplace handles the logistics, the workflow differs from standard merchant-shipped orders.
Automatic Order Status
For every marketplace, the process remains consistent: any order containing products identified as part of a "Fulfillment" program is automatically imported into Lengow with the status "SHIPPED".
Because the marketplace has already dispatched the package, no manual action is required within the Lengow platform to fulfill these orders.
Syncing Orders to your E-commerce Platform
Via a Lengow Plugin:
PrestaShop, Magento, and Shopware: You must manually activate the option to "import orders shipped by marketplaces" within the plugin settings.
-
Shopify: Fulfillment orders are automatically retrieved and set to "SHIPPED" status.
Note: Because the marketplace uses its own stock, your Shopify inventory levels are not decremented for these orders.
Via the Lengow API:
If you use a custom API integration, you can identify these specific orders using the following technical node:
- is_delivered_by_marketplace
- When this node is set to true, it confirms the order was handled by the marketplace's logistics service.
