The Catalogue Preview feature provides a powerful workspace to seamlessly inspect your catalogue data, verify product information, and customise your display to find exactly what you need. This guide walks you through accessing the page, searching for specific products, and configuring your view for day-to-day investigations.
Accessing the Preview and Overview
To access your data, navigate to the catalogue tab, open your desired catalogue, and click the See all products button:
Once the page loads, the top section gives you a quick health check and overview of your catalogue. Alongside the catalogue name at the top, you can easily review:
- Catalogue sources: Verify the origin of your imported data.
- Product count: See the total number of products currently in your catalogue.
- Recent changes: Quickly spot the variation in your product count since the last import.
- Last update: Check the exact date and time your catalogue data was last refreshed.
Finding Products
When you need to locate specific items or troubleshoot a particular product, you can use the filtering and search tools available at the top of the table:
- Filter by category (1): Use the category dropdown to narrow down your view to a specific product group.
- Search within a field (2): You can perform a targeted search for values within a single catalogue field at a time. By default, the ID field is selected to help you find specific products quickly. You can easily switch this to search by any other field you need (e.g., EAN, title, description), including fields from an additional source. All fields are conveniently grouped by their source.
- Pagination (3): For large catalogues, use the pagination controls at the bottom of the page to navigate through your product list smoothly.
Choosing Visible Data
While the search bar helps you find which products are displayed, the field selector allows you to control which columns are visible on your screen.
Click on the field selector (1) to search for specific data points (see screenshot below). From there, you can tick or untick individual fields (2) or select entire groups, like additional sources (3) to show or hide them from your current table view. This helps you declutter your workspace and focus only on the data relevant to your current task.
Export Behaviour
Please keep in mind that exporting your catalogue will always download the full dataset. Any export actions reflect the complete catalogue data and will not respect the search filters or column visibility settings you have applied in the preview screen.
To export your catalogue, click the download button in the top right corner as shown below:
Configuring the table layout
To make data comparison easier, you can personalise the table layout to suit your needs:
- Freeze or hide columns: Left-click on a column name to pin (Freeze) specific columns (like the Product SKU or Title) so they remain visible while you scroll horizontally through the rest of your data. You can also hide columns from this menu.
- Reorder and resize: Use the menu to move columns left, right, to the front, or to the back. You can also directly drag and drop column headers to rearrange their order, and adjust the width of any column to read long text more easily.
Inspecting Product Values
The table is designed to help you dive deeper into your product information directly from the preview:
- Read truncated content: If a cell contains a lot of text (like a product description), simply click on it to open and read the full content.
- Enlarge images: Click on any product image thumbnail to view a larger version.
- Check source information: Hover over or click on column headers to inspect their source details.
Saved Preferences and Sharing Investigations
Your Saved Preferences
To save you time, your workspace is persistent. Your specific column arrangements and filter settings are automatically remembered for each individual catalogue within your current browser.
Because these preferences are stored locally, they will not follow you if you log in from a different browser, use an incognito window, or switch devices.
Sharing your personalised view
If you need to share a specific view of your catalogue with a colleague, the Lengow support team, or if you connect to another computer, you can easily generate and copy the direct link to your current configuration. To get the link for your view, click the share link button in the top right corner or simply copy the current URL of your catalogue (see screenshot below).
- What is included: The shared link retains your applied filters, selected columns, and the page you are currently viewing.
- What is excluded: Personalised formatting such as column order, frozen columns, and column widths are not included in the shared link.
Access Requirements
The recipient of the shared link must already have the appropriate permissions to view the specific catalogue in Lengow. When they open your link, the shared settings will take precedence over any saved preferences they might have stored in their own browser.
Need Help? (Legacy Fallback and Tours)
If you need a refresher on how the interface works, you can relaunch the interactive guided tour at any time by clicking the question mark icon (?) in the top-right corner (1) (see screenshot below). This is the same tour that appeared during your very first visit.
Finally, if you experience any unexpected issues or need to temporarily use the older catalogue preview, you can easily return to the previous version by clicking Open legacy preview (2). Please note that this legacy feature will only be available temporarily and will be disabled in the near future.
