Most Advertising channels are configured in a similar way, which is why Lengow does not provide a Help Center guide for each of them. This article provides guidelines on how to set up most Advertising channels.
Tip: Advertising feeds are often based on the same feed structure as Google via URL, Facebook and TikTok. Refer to one of these guides to set up channels such as Bing Ads, Criteo, etc.
Discover all the Ads channels available in Lengow in our Advertising Channel Finder
Always follow the same steps to set up a channel in Lengow, as detailed in this article.
Register with the channel
Contact the channel to know if you are eligible to display your products on their website.
To display your products on any channel, check that your catalogue contains the data normally required by Lengow.
Add a channel catalogue
Add a channel in your Lengow account.
Depending on the Advertising channel:
- One channel per country may be available, in which case you need to select your target country in the filters and add the corresponding channel. Example: Idealo (Germany).
- If the channel is identical for any country, it may be available in Lengow as a single "World" version. Example: LinkShare (World).
If needed, you may add this Advertising feed several times and naming it differently.
Tip: To see all available channels, select "All countries" in the filters when choosing a channel.
The Advertising feed you're looking for is not available?
You have the option to create a Custom Channel in Lengow to create your own channel structure, fully customized according to your needs.
Map Categories
Depending on the Advertising channel you selected, the category mapping may be required or not:
- If it is required, you will find a "Categories" tab in your feed. You must map your own categories with the channel's categories. Example: Bing Ads.
- If there is no "Categories" tab in the channel configuration (see screenshot), it means that category mapping is not required for this channel. Example: Kwanko
In such a case, there is usually one or several attributes to provide your own product category. Ex: "merchant_category" or "product_type".
Complete Attributes mapping
Some attributes are mandatory and must be completed for your products to be created or updated. Other attributes are optional but recommended to improve your products visibility.
Follow the description of each attribute in Lengow to correctly map your data.
The main attributes required by the channel are usually as follows:
| Attribute name | What is expected |
| "id" or "product_id" or "offer-id" | unique product identifier (SKU) |
| "price" | price of the product |
| "title" or "product_name" | title of the product (number of characters may be limited) |
| "description" | description of the product (number of characters may be limited) |
| "link" | URL of the product on your website |
| "image_link" or "image_URL" | URL of the product image |
| "gtin" or "ean" | EAN or GTIN code of the product |
| "shipping" or "delivery_cost" | shipping cost |
| "brand" or "brand_name" | brand |
| "parent_product_id" or "item_group_id" | parent ID if the product is part of a variation |
| "size" | size of the product |
| "color" | color of the product |
Custom fields
Some channels have the option to add custom fields to create personalized attributes (Ex: Sensefuel, Kwanko).
Click on "Add a custom field" at the bottom of the Attributes tab of your channel to use this option:
Manage your Exclusions
Configure exclusions to exclude from your feed the products you don't want to publish on the Advertising channel.
Configure your Settings and Launch
At the Settings step, click on the "Launch" button once your settings are done. You may download a CSV file of your feed to check that your products are correctly configured.
Then, to activate your feed in Lengow, click on the "Finish" button and on "Launch now".
-
Provide your feed to the channel
As there is no API connection between Lengow and Advertising channels (except for Google API), you must provide your feed file to the channel.
Advertising feeds are usually made available to the channel through a URL link. The URL of your feed is given at the launching step of your channel configuration, as well as on the Configuration page (see screenshot).
Send this URL to the channel by email, or enter it in the channel's back-office.
Do you need the file in a different format? Any feed can be provided in CSV, TXT, HTML or JSON format - ask the Support team for the corresponding URL.
In some cases, another option to send your products to the channel is through FTP deposit. An "I prefer to use the FTP deposit" option may be available for certain channels. Ex: LinkShare.
To configure an FTP deposit, follow the instructions given in this article.
-
Frequency
The update frequency of your feed is determined by the channel, who will download the feed URL at regular intervals. It may be possible to configure the frequency in your channel's backoffice.
Channel report
Channel reports are not available in Lengow (except for Google API), but integration errors may be available in your Advertising channel's back-office. If not, contact your channel account manager.
Edit a product file
Check our usual guidelines to edit your data:
- Edit "product data"
- Edit "offer data"
Unpublish/Delete an offer
- To stop advertising an offer on the channel, read our usual recommendations.
